Thumbtack — Content design style guide

When I joined Thumbtack, we had several floating docs and decks about our content design guidelines and principles. But with a growing team and dependency on content design, it was important to create a source of truth. We centralised the content within our wider design system, Thumbprint.

Our MVP guide included existing guidelines around elements like headers and button text, but I also wrote new content about plain language principles, inclusion, and accessibility. The style guide now plays an important role in evangelising the importance of content design, and including it in the product development process.
